25/02/2019 16:30

The first-ever Exhibition Raceday at Conghua Racecourse will be held on 23 March. It is a unique racing event showcasing Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing and featuring some of the world’s best jockeys and trainers. All races will be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Racing and Hong Kong’s well established racing protocols except that no wagering will be offered. To ensure that the event runs smoothly, a cross-departmental dress rehearsal with five barrier trials was held on 23 February with the participation of 32 horses and ten jockeys, including star riders like Zac Purton and Joao Moreira. A number of horse owners also attended the dress rehearsal and witnessed the commitment and efforts of the Club in preparing for the Exhibition Raceday.

The rehearsal went smoothly and served as a useful reference for the Club in preparation for the real event in March.

  • Club Chairman Dr Anthony W K Chow addresses the audience at the opening ceremony of the Exhibition Raceday dress rehearsal.
  • Five horses race across the winning arch in the first barrier trial for the Exhibition Raceday.
